Last Friday I was in the legendary- sought after - place to be for lonesome foreigners visiting the Philippines. Accdg. to this canadian acquaintance, he’s been hearing “good things” about this bar back at home so we have to bring him there. I never realized that LA Cafe in Ermita has this kind of reputation with our foreign friends 
.
So after 15 minutes of driving around Ermita we finally found THE place. Since i’m a bit tired that night i only ordered coke. Yes a can of coke for me! I have learned my lessons when going to places like this. You should not drink beer or get drunk coz it really really affects your judgement. Plus the fact that dim lights and those fancy make ups are very deceiving. Believe me they fooled me once and it won’t happen again
There we are sitting in the bar enjoying the cozy music while suddenly i was approached by a “working girl”. Apparently this girl thought that i’m Korean. She asked me “are you korean or Filipino?”. I just smiled at her then she left. Maybe it’s just her pick-up line to get my attention (which she did) or maybe she wanted to start a conversation so i can offer her a drink (i’m cost-cutting). Maybe she still doesn’t have a client for that night (sorry not my type) or maybe, just maybe… i look like korean…NOT!
